Fifty-two high-achieving students from public and private schools nationwide will be honoured at the 2025 Presidential Awards on Wednesday, March 5, for their outstanding performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Ahead of the ceremony, the awardees, including two hearing-impaired and two visually impaired students, visited the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Davis, and Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu in Accra on Monday, March 3.
Prof Davis introduced the students to the minister, commending their academic achievements and resilience.
Mr Iddrisu congratulated them and urged them to strive for excellence as they advance in their education
The students, 36 from public schools and 16 from private schools were selected based on their exceptional BECE results.
GES has described the inclusion of students with disabilities as a reflection of Ghana’s commitment to inclusive education and equal opportunities for all learners.
The Presidential Awards, an annual event that recognises the country’s top-performing BECE candidates, will be held at Jubilee House on March 5, where the students will be honoured by President John Dramani Mahama.
