Manchester City will face reigning champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-offs, while Scottish champions Celtic take on Bayern Munich.
City will host Madrid at the Etihad Stadium on February 11 or 12 before travelling to Spain for the return leg the following week. This is the fourth consecutive Champions League meeting between the two sides in seasons, with City triumphing in 2023 en route to their first title, while defending champions Madrid emerged victorious last season.
Despite securing a 3-1 win over Club Brugge on the final matchday to secure their place in the top 24, City’s low ranking has set up an early high-stakes clash against the Spanish giants.
Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain will battle fellow French side Brest, while Juventus take on PSV Eindhoven.
Meanwhile, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Aston Villa have already advanced to the last 16 after securing a top-eight finish in the league phase.
They will learn their opponents when the next draw takes place on February 21.
The first legs of the play-offs will be played on February 11 and 12, with the return fixtures scheduled for February 18 and 19.
